The Ama Youdon Foundation was established in 2008 to provide support to Tibetan elderly people who have been living as refugees in India for more than 50 years and who no longer have any source of income in old age. Especially those elderly people who have no children or for whom the children are unable to care for them, live in extremely poor circumstances. After a life of hard work for often a very poor income, this is an unearned wage in old age. The Ama Youdon Foundation currently supports the elderly in Dekyiling, a Tibetan community at Dehra Dun in northern India..
